Emily Eavis: 'We're cementing the headliners for Glastonbury 2010'

Glastonbury festival's Emily Eavis has said that she and her father Michael are on the verge of booking the headline acts for next year's bash.

Tickets for Glastonbury Festival 2010 go on sale this Sunday 2nd October. You only have until tonight to register at Glastonburyfestivals.co.uk.

Speaking about plans for next year's bash and tickets going on sale, Eavis told the festival's official website, Glastonburyfestivals.co.uk, that they were currently booking who will top the bill next year.

"It's perfect timing because we're just cementing our headliners for next year," she explained. "So it's nice that it's all happening at once."

She added that the festival is planning to celebrate its 40th birthday in style.

She said: "I think there's lots of interest in the 40th anniversary next year. And we're excited about it too – there are lots of great ideas flying around for the anniversary."

Eavis also revealed that there are plans to try and get some of the acts who played the first Glastonbury in 1970 to play next year too.

"We've got a lot of really interesting offers coming in – like one [performer] who's an organic potato farmer now, who played in 1970 but wants to reform his band for next year," she explained. "Which is great. I think it's really important to have a bit of that, plus lots of the new stuff as well."

The Kinks were due to headline Glastonbury in 1970, but pulled out due to illness. They were replaced by T-Rex, while other acts on the bill included Ian Hunt, Wayne Fontana and Al Stewart.

Kanye West, Lady Gaga’s Fame Kills Tour Killed Before It Starts — AKA Gets Canceled

The highly anticipated co-headlining Fame Kills Tour, featuring Kanye West and Lady Gaga, has been killed before it even began. A press release by promoter Live Nation delivered the news this week, but didn't give an explanation over the 34-date tour's cancellation. However, it did say refunds are available at the point of purchase, and that tickets purchased online and via phone will be refunded automatically.

Rumors of the tour's demise has been circulating the web for days, due largely to the negative publicity the rapper received from the VMAs incident last month where Kanye disrupted country singer Taylor Swift's award acceptance speech to say -- in so many words -- that Beyonce should've won.

At press time, it was unknown if the tour plans to be re-launched at a later time.

Katie Price names rapist to TV crew

The altogether grim story of Katie Price’s alleged rape and rapist is rumbling on – this time with the news that she told the TV crew on her new reality show who he is. Lawyers on What Katie Did Next have reacted in the way you would, filling their pants with fear and banning his identity from being broadcast.

Making things even more complicated is Price’s decision to call up The Wright Stuff – the show which outed John Leslie all those years ago – to say that she will not name the attacker, using the unfortunate turn of phrase ‘I don't want to go into it. I take it on the chin’ in the process.

‘There is a three-line whip here,’ said a source at the show. ‘A handful of people know who it is but they are absolutely not allowed to even tell their loved ones. They're petrified they could get caught up in it like Matthew Wright was over Ulrika and John Leslie.

‘It happened when she was in her early twenties as she was getting started on her glamour career,’ said a family friend yesterday. ‘He was and is quite famous but is less well known than he was ten years ago. She was too scared to go to police at the time but has never forgotten or forgiven. Katie knows what she has said will have repercussions. But she doesn't want to be seen as the next Ulrika Jonsson.’

Music152 says:
Tut tut tut, Jordan what are you doing girl? That is a fucked up attempt for media and public sympathy, Do you think people are going to fall for that one for even a minute? And you say you don't want to get seen as the next Ulrika ka? Well turning up and saying that the rapist is a SCOTTISH CELEB, who is not as high profile as he was ten years ago, are you thinking that people will not naturally assume that it is John Leslie. The poor guy, think what he is now going through. And as for calling the Matthew Wright show, of all shows. You were secretly hoping he would let slip again wern't you? Why didn't you call a different show, Loose Women I would of thought would be more you. If you really were raped then you should of either gone to the police straight away or never mentioned it again. This is just going to make things worse for you. Pathetic.

Still, you gotta give her some credit, She's actually made Peter Andre look good. No one has ever managed that before, not even himself.

Amelle Quits Sugababes

And Jade Ewen looks set to replace her…

Amelle Berrabah has quit the Sugababes- according to reports.
AND it's thought that young solo star Jade Ewen will replace her in the girl group.

It’s been rumoured that Amelle had quit the band all week amid reports that the star had gone missing.

Now 21 year old Jade- who represented Britain at the most recent Eurovision song contest- looks set to take over in the band.

Ewen was due in the MTV offices yesterday but pulled out at the last minute. A statement from her label said:

“Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, we regret to inform you that Jade Ewen will be taking time off from all promotional activity for the foreseeable future.”

Amelle joined the group in 2005 replacing Mutya Buena.

Rihanna Shows Off Pierced Nipple

Rihanna has revealed her pierced nipple whilst out and about in New York.

The singer hit the streets yesterday in denim shorts, hooded cardigan and a see through black top- showing off a silver nipple ring.

That’s on the same day as her ex Chris Brown was snapped picking up rubbish as he started community service for assaulting her.

Brown has to complete 180 days community service for the attack and will also be on probation for the next five years.

Rihanna was spotted partying at VMA after-parties with her mentor Jay-Z earlier this week.

EG rocks with Pixie Lott at GH5 launch

Fresh from headlining the Cavern Club on Tuesday night, the Eurogamer Super Group was back on stage this morning with Essex songstress Pixie Lott, to kick off a Guinness World Record attempt marking the launch of Guitar Hero 5.

The event, overseen by an official Guinness adjudicator, began at 11am in HMV's flagship store at 150 Oxford Street, London, with France, Italy, Spain, Holland and Sweden running sessions simultaneously to find the territory which can produce the greatest number of players over the next 24 hours using the game's 'jump in, jump out' Party Play mode.

Clearly Lott had been made aware of Eurogamer's god-given talent at making fools of ourselves, so she bottled it on the singing, electing instead to wield the plastic axe while EG wailed its way through Blur's "Song 2", half-blinded by incessantly flashing paparazzi lights - none of which, amazingly, was aimed at us.

18 year-old Lott, whose second single, "Boys And Girls", is expected to top the UK charts this weekend, then quit the stage to allow punters the chance to help set the record. If you fancy taking part yourself, you can just turn up at the store before 7pm this evening. Apparently you get a certificate and everything.
